The Output rollout holds the controls for the simulation result.
Storage quality (MXS: storage_quality) -
The output channels are compressed with JPG like algorithm to increase the performance (faster loading) and to avoid excessive memory consumption. This parameter (4-20) gives the quality/size ratio of the compression. 20 is the best quality 8 is the smallest size.
Backup interval (MXS: backup) - Determines the interval between two backups (See button)
Cut above surface level (MXS: cutinside) - If checked the channel selected in the "effects channel" section of the rendering parameter map will be exported modified. The purpose of this option is to prevent some flickering of the surface when the values are crossing the threshold too slowly.
Output channels (MXS: keep_sm, keep_t, keep_uvw, keep_v, keep_vxyz,keep_fl) - The Phoenix core is designed to operate with different number of channels. The more channels are used the slower the simulation goes and the bigger the output result is. The disabled (not checked) channels will not be present in both the core and in the output frame. The only exceptions from this rule are the Velocity and Temperature channels - they are an essential part in the simulation and are always present in the core, so their checkboxes determine only their presence in the output frame.
Output path (MXS: simoutput) - The output path gives the directory and the name template for the output files. You can use the browse button to select the path or type it manually. Some replaceable words are supported for more flexibility:
