The Source node controls the emission of fluid inside the Simulator. It does not release the fluid itself; instead it is just a container for the parameters. The fluid is released from the surface of the the associated objects (see the Object Set). The Source does not care about which simulator is going to be affected. It works with every simulator which interacts with the associated node. So the Interaction Set of the simulator can be used to restrict the undesired interactions. Each parameter of the released fluid has a texture slot allowing space modulation. Each parameter has a check box that controls whether or not the source will affect the corresponding channel.
Object Set nodeSet - This set specifies the list of objects releasing the fluid on their surfaces. The following objects are supported:
Emit Material material - Only polygons with the specified material will emit the fluid.
Discharge discharge, dischargeMult - The speed (not the quantity) of the discharged fluid. The quantity of the fluid will be equal to this parameter multiplied by the object's surface.
Temperature useTemperature, temperature, temperatureMult - The temperature of the released fluid measured in K. If the Temperature channel is not used this parameter is ignored.
Smoke useSmoke, smoke, smokeMult - The concentration of the "Smoke" channel, if the channel is not used this parameter is ignored. This parameter is the relative concentration of the "Smoke".
UVW useUvw, uvwMode, uvw - The concentration of the "UVW" channel, if the channel is not used this parameter is ignored. This channel can have three different interpretation:
Fuel useFuel, fuel, fuelMult - The concentration of the "Fuel" channel, if the channel is not used this parameter is ignored. This parameter is the relative concentration of the "Fuel".
Particles useParticles, particles, particlesMult - Particle birth control. The birth ratio is per square unit if the source is a solid object, or per volume unit otherwise
Velocity useVelocity, velocity - If checked, the moving geometry affects the velocity of the fluid with the specified multiplier.
A list of modifiers that allow modulating the emission using properties of the rigid body at the point of interaction with the simulator. A ramp control is used to remap from the value of the specified property to a multiplier in range [0,1]
Source modifiers.source - The source property of the rigid body.
Affect modifiers.affect - The affected emission component.
Multiplier modifiers.rampMaxValue - A multiplier for the ramp values.
Space modifiers.space - The space in which the source property will be taken.
Offset modifiers.rampOffset - Values offset of the ramp, i.e. the ramp start value (used with velocity source).
Scale modifiers.rampScale - Values scale of the ramp, i.e. the values span interval(used with velocity source).
Diagram modifiers.rampAlpha - The ramp diagram for mapping the source value to a multiplier in range [0,1].
If Not Solid ifNotSolid - specifies the method used to process the object in the Object Set that are invisible to the simulation. This includes particles, hidden objects and objects excluded from the interaction list of the simulator.
Time Base timeBase - This parameter affects the particle systems selected as source. It allows the user to animate the parameters using the age of the particle instead the animation time.
Particle Type particlesType - The type of the particles born from this source.
Use Particle Size usePartSize - If unchecked, a default size is used for all particles. When checked, the actual per particle size is used.
Locator Scale locatorScale - controls the locator size scale in the viewport
Locator Color locatorColor - controls the locator color in the viewport
